My Story
About Greg Myer, LMHC
Greg Myer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, military veteran, and founder of RPM Counseling. He provides trauma-informed counseling for adults in Plantation, Broward County, and throughout Florida by telehealth.
Greg’s professional background includes work in mental health counseling, crisis intervention, law enforcement-related training, behavioral health coordination, and supporting individuals navigating high-stress environments. His experience working around trauma, operational stress, crisis response, and resilience continues to shape the practical and grounded approach he brings to counseling.
Before becoming a counselor, Greg served in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer. That experience provided firsthand exposure to high-pressure environments, structure, responsibility, and the culture many veterans, first responders, and high-performing professionals navigate every day. It also reinforced the importance of trust, emotional resilience, communication, and having space to process stress before it becomes overwhelming.
In addition to private practice, Greg is involved in behavioral health coordination and crisis intervention initiatives within the community. He is involved with Mission United through the Advisory Council and has participated in collaborative efforts focused on improving access to support services for veterans, first responders, and individuals facing behavioral health challenges.
Greg also provides speaking engagements and training related to crisis intervention, trauma-informed approaches, stress, burnout, de-escalation, resilience, and behavioral health awareness. He has worked with law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, universities, first responder organizations, community groups, and other professional audiences navigating high-stress environments and complex human situations.
RPM Counseling was built around a simple idea: creating the type of counseling environment Greg himself would feel comfortable walking into based on his own background, experiences, and understanding of high-pressure cultures.
Many adults hesitate to start counseling because they worry they will not be understood, will be judged, or will be pushed into conversations that feel forced or disconnected from real life. RPM Counseling takes a different approach. Counseling is collaborative, grounded, and focused on helping clients better understand patterns, build practical coping tools, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and create sustainable long-term change.
Greg works with adults navigating:
Trauma and chronic stress
Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Men’s mental health concerns
Veteran transition and adjustment
First responder stress
Relationship challenges
Grief and life transitions
Emotional shutdown and disconnection
High-pressure professional environments
His approach combines trauma-informed care with practical tools, emotional awareness, accountability, resilience-building, and realistic strategies clients can apply in everyday life. Counseling may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, solution-focused strategies, stress management tools, emotional regulation skills, and values-based exploration depending on each client’s goals and needs.
Greg believes counseling should feel human, practical, and relevant to the realities people are actually dealing with, not overly scripted, overly clinical, or disconnected from everyday life. Whether someone is navigating trauma, burnout, emotional exhaustion, relationship stress, or simply feeling stuck, counseling can provide perspective, clarity, support, and meaningful tools for change.
RPM Counseling provides in-person counseling in Plantation, Florida and serves adults throughout Broward County, including Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Sunrise, Coral Springs, Tamarac, and nearby South Florida communities. Telehealth counseling is available throughout Florida.
